Achievement Tips
I discovered this by accident because all I wanted to do was see what firefight was like without dying a whole lot.
Achievements: "Game, Set, Match." "Firestarter" "Spoonful of Blamite" "That's a Knife"
Go to: Main Menu > Game Options > Spartan Settings > Base Traits > Shields and Health > Damage Resistance set to Invulnerable
I only did this to see the intensity of Legendary Firefight only to go through it and realize Bungie screwed up. "Game, Set, Match" is completing Firefight on Legendary without dying.....so if you're invulnerable, you can get this achievement rather easy. Found out by mistake thinking Bungie couldn't possibly let something that stupid happen....oh wells.
Firestarter: Scored 50,000 points in a firefight game. The best thing to do to get high points is use combo's. Simply put: hurt the enemy, then beat them down. Helps when you're invulnerable. LOL again, I didn't realize this was an achievement, let alone be able to cheat to get it....
Spoonful of Blamite: Killed 10 enemies in firefight/campaign with a supercombine explosion. Not really hard in firefight to be honest. I only put it here because if you want the achievement real easy, do it this way.
That's a Knife: doing this in multiplayer isnt difficult, either. But, I did it real easy here with so many goddamned opponents running around.

Re: Achievement Tips
I used this to get to 200,000 points, and it could probably be used to get to 1 million fairly easily too
Re: Achievement Tips
I have also found out that if you set the game to replay over and over your points do NOT set back to zero....

Re: Achievement Tips
You guys talking about gruntacolypse? LOL, I've heard that people have been banned for playing only that, but I have nothing to back that statement up.

Re: Achievement Tips
interesting....I don't think you can ban people for playing a game that Bungie made completely customizable without ever considering making the achievements "cheat" proof. "How dare you customize a game we intended to be customizable so you can get achievements!" sounds retarded, right?

"With great power, comes great responsibility and Cooperative Multiplayer Lead Lars Bakken informs me that it was well understood that by adding full customization to Firefight certain players would decide to cheese the related achievements (i.e. the laziest, least skilled players). The solution to this problem would have been simple, we could have either cut the Firefight Achievements in question or cut Firefight customization altogether. Neither of those would have made Lars very happy.
So yeah, Firefight in Halo: Reach is literally what you make of it. If you want to take the easy way out, and download game variants from IGN’s File Share, feel free. You’re only impacting your own enjoyment. You're also a baby who sucks at Halo. Your call.
Luke has a slightly different take, noting that if you want to utilize the wealth of available Firefight customization options and our built-in File Browser and File Share features to download an easier way to snag these particular achievements, or if you create a variant of your own design, you've simply discovered yet another one of Halo: Reach's robust features. It's what you call a Win/Win."

Re: Achievement Tips
Well to answer your question alc, it was basically a spamming of Elite Generals, there were few of them and they were worth a lot of points, so you get around 600,000+ points in the bonus round which takes about 4 minutes to get to
Re: Achievement Tips
Ah, I see.
But there's a few guy who are now Lt. Colonels because ALL they've played is gruntacolypse (one guy had FIFTEEN pages full of only gruntacolypse gammes). Sure, it's effective, but it's only giving your mom a valid excuse to force you out of the house LOL.
I'd go mad from playing the same thing THAT much.

Re: Achievement Tips
I set my own firefight waves to Elite Task Force (all elites and General and Grunts) and played that way to earn the 1 million.

Re: Achievement Tips
Ok, guys, after spending a couple hours attempting to get this achievement, then finally getting it, I am nominating "If they came to hear me beg" as the worst achievement in the game.
This involves sprinting off the cliff at the beginning of "The Pillar of Autumn" and assassinating the elite at the bottom, at first glance it sounds kind of difficult, but not too bad. However, there are a few things that make this achieveable gayer than gay. First, you have to sprint to get to the elite, duh, but if you sprint too long, you won't die when you hit the ground, so the game won't count it, if you land ON the elite at all, you won't die, achievement blocked, if you stop sprinting too soon, you die, and you try again. Sometimes, you will only "beat down" the elite, and not assassinate him, OR he will even turn around for no reason, and you just smack him in the face.... So basically, if you attempt this, just know it will be a patience building activity.

Re: Achievement Tips
See, I assassinated the elite about 90/100 times I tried, but it took forever for it to give me the actual achievement
Re: Achievement Tips
Hey, anyone know a good place to boost headshots in campaign? I'm trying to find a spot... not having any luck though
Re: Achievement Tips
The start of ONI: Sword Base is pretty good, but really in campaign you just have to have fun with it because the campaign commendations take FOREVER.

Re: Achievement Tips
I'm considering just playing through on legendary by myself for the achievement and for the commendations....
Re: Achievement Tips
LOL same here, but I'm waiting til I have every armor piece I want and then immerse myself into the story for my full legendary playthrough, after which I may just play CE for a nostalgia trip.

Re: Achievement Tips
I just found the best way to farm campaign commendations.
On Long Night of Solace once you've entered the launch facility take a rocket launcher from one of the marines and blow up the wraith on the platform (or board it). Afterward head back out to the front of the facility.
An infinite amount of covie infantry will attack the base.
They come in on two spirit drop ships, one lands on the platform where the wraith was, the other on the beach in front of the facility entrance. When all the covies from the dropships die, two more fly in and drop in another wave, just grunts jackals and elites over and over. What's even better is that you have an infinite amount of troopers to die in combat and resupply your ammo, and a fresh batch will drop in on a pelican after all the others are dead. They spawn with random weapons. Epic.
Now I'm off to do it myself!
