I was thinking about how much money they make off of DLC, etc. and I honestly don't think it matters how soon or later they issue the new maps. In the end, ppl still have to buy the DLC. SO ISSUE IT ALREADY.

I guess they're putting it off til november because of all the updates to matchmaking they've been doing, but that's only a theory.

Personally I think that in order for the DLC to warrant an instant buy they need to stuff a SHITLOAD of maps in it, cause the map department is severely lacking.
I mean, 2 Invasion maps? Thats fucking ridiculous. I remember UT99, the golden age of PC FPS, that game has a shit ton of maps, and the maps for every gametype are different, with at least 10 maps for gametype (often a lot more than that) and there are like 4 different gametypes.
The amount of maps on this game though, its ridiculous.

I know, but I'll take three maps over nothing, and they aren't just ripped out of campaign, thank god. Also Tempest, the largest of the three maps, is a big forge map. Not Forge World big, but potentially like Sandbox. Overall it kinda reminds me of Relic.
Also, I think I need to play matchmaking more...all I ever do is play campaign and firefight, but that's mainly because AI aren't too cheap.

I think they worked the AI's "intelligence" pretty well. I like how the elites fight tooth and nail till the (almost) very end. I think it kinda dumb how they stand there and scream in frustration as their shields go down. It just enables you to get the final blow without any effort.

Eh, they've always done that, but at least they won't flinch from sniper rounds until their shields are gone like in Halo 2. The Halo 2 elites weren't very spectacular at all.

No, they weren't LOL I remember having to compensate for the flinch. But Halo 2 was really all about getting Halo multiplayer online for XLive. Halo 1 and 3 were great campaigns, Reach is just awesome, but Halo 2 was more of a transition story; it was essentially just setting the scene for Halo 3 AND concentrating on multiplayer.

The thing I liked most about Halo 2 was the soundtrack, it just barely beats ODST's in my opinion.

I liked Halo 3's soundtrack, mainly for that one song that plays at the beginning of The Covenant. I also really liked ODST's soundtrack because it just fit the whole setting perfectly.

I was meh about Halo 3's because it was just recycled songs from the past games, and while I enjoyed it nevertheless, it wasn't as original as the other soundtracks.
On an entirely different note, I thoroughly enjoy playing campaign with Thunderstorm, Cloud, Catch, Famine, Tough Luck, Cowbell, and IWBYD, which coincidentally is 7 skulls...

Honestly, I didn't care for Halo 2's soundtrack AT ALL. too much rock crap in it. I really liked Halo's and Halo 3's. I liked Halo 3's because it went BACK to the original music and reused it. Halo's music was epic. Every time I heard it, I craved the game, and feelings of awe and great times spent with a house filled with friends and 4 xboxes hooked up in LAN with pizza boxes everywhere comes to the surface of my mind each time I hear it. GREAT TIMES. So, for me, I like the original and what's close to the original.

I liked all the Halo soundtracks, but Halo 3's is the best to me because its the original soundtrack redone with lots of orchestral elements, which I love. I enjoyed the occasional rock riffs in Halo 2, but to me its all about the orchestra. They kicked it off nicely in Halo 3, especially with the opening song for the campaign.
I'll never forget the first time I played Halo 3, Master Chief falling from the sky, Cortana's narration, and the piece "Luck" just set the mood for the rest of the game. It starts off somber and sad, the Chief gets up but the mood is still low because Cortana is missing, and finally after the Arbiter makes his appearance the music goes to the games signature piano jingle.

I do like Heavy Price Paid, its a really good piece, and High Charity is okay, Halo 2 did bring some emotional pieces.
It must've been the combination of the anticipation for Halo 3, the accumulation of all the events in the Halo series, and then the mood that this number struck with my when playing Halo 3.

When it comes to tracks, I don't notice them immediately while I'm playing, they're sort of supporting the experience on the sidelines. Then over time I listen to them more and more and fully arreciate them without the disruptive din of screams and gunfire

It feels claustrophobic, and it doesn't help that the little section doohickeys bump out when you scroll through them in an attempt to mimic 3D, it makes me nauseous. And I wince every time I hit the xbox guide button because the damn color scheme is too fucking bright. It's a bunch of horseshit. I mean, I can understand they'd have to make it work with kinect, but did they really have to change it that much? What was wrong with the old layout? It was fine!

I was fine with the ORIGINAL layout....then they changed it for the avatar crap to compete with the Wii...and now they change it for the kinect...which I may get...Jen seems interested in it and if it can get us playing together then fine. Honestly, the look and feel sucks. It's too blocky, to PC oriented, the sound affects suck, and it is TOO bright....bah! just when I get used to one they change it. And I didn't like the other one cause it was too slow BUT I liked the rounded edges and sound affects. just seems...off. OH, and now that I downloaded it my Fallout New Vegas starts to freeze up....coincidence?! I think NOT!

For some reason Reach also loads slower EVEN THOUGH I INSTALLED IT TO THE FUCKING HARD DRIVE because bungie optimized it to work faster as such, and it does, but now it just loads as fast as it fucking wants to

The only thing microsoft made that doesn't suck was a vacuum.
I put the game on the hdd, too, but didn't notice TOO much of a difference. There was a difference, but not much. I haven't tried playing Reach with this update installed but Fallout NV froze on me twice since downloading the update this morning...

I looked for customization options (NOT IN THE AVATAR EDITOR! AVOID THAT!!!) to hopefully change the look/colors but it does not exist. Seems like we're stuck with that bright white/green craptacular color scheme.
