*sigh* We'll get used to it...I guess...

I hate it...I will say it seems quicker. Halo seemed unchanged as I played it as far as speed/loading goes.

neither will I. I was hoping to at least be able to customize the color schemes. That would be a nice touch.
There's quite a number of ppl on XBox.com complaining about the colors, let alone the loss of avatar items and gamerscore, and one guy even ranted about how XBox is no longer a hardcore gamer's console.
I won't go so far as to say it's not for hardcore gamers anymore because you can mostly ignore all the other bullshit and play your video games hassle free. But I will say the XLive look and feel has gone more towards a community for everyone, particularly parents WITH KIDS. Seems like M$ is trying to sterilize the environment so as to keep it child friendly in order to appeal to parents and by doing so has altered the looks so as to provide no visual stimulation or appeal, aka anything offensive. With this alteration (altercation, really, as there's no customization options) comes the sterile look of ...DUN DUN DUN...WINDOWS! It has the look and feel of an older computer OS, in my opinion. All that's missing is the mouse pointer icon WHICH, I'm sure will be there for the Kinect...
And this brings me to my next point:
Long has the role of a video gaming system gone bye bye and the ENTERTAINMENT system taken over. You can now download music and videos, watch TV, rent movies from NetFlix, play all those music/videos in surround sound, listen to the radio, play high def movies, video chat with friends, check Facebook, check email, get the weather forecast, surf the net, watch the news, get sports highlights from ESPN (WHO CARES!) and (to cut the list short) play video games.
No longer is the console solely and completely dedicating itself to the video game community but has rather assumed the role of another major entertainment source out there that has been performing this role of "everyone's entertainment source" for years beyond the console: THE COMPUTER!
The once thickly drawn line between computer and console (Think PS2 and XBox era and beyond) has now become thin, fast approaching the width of a hair. Soon, the days of just popping in a game disc and playing a game with others around the world will be gone, giving way to M$ updates that never fix a god damn thing, various software/hardware requirements that must be met in order to play the games, hackers who easily cheat the system and burden honest gamers with anti-everything-ware, internet pop ups/cookies and spyware looking to see what your "interests" are, viruses and the software required to prevent viruses from infecting your "console," and a mouse and keyboard to hep you easily navigate the once simple dashboard.
When I originally purchased a console gaming system it was because the system was purely for GAMING. The drawbacks of the PC were left behind, along with all the hackers, software requirements, hardware requirements, and general M$ bullshit updates.
Kiss the once gorgeous woman of video gaming simplicity one last time and say your goodbyes. She is leaving and will be a distant memory that leaves you longing for the golden days of happy, simple, video game console gaming.

Because Microsoft can't let us get comfortable...

What I don't get is the Performance Rating. I just don't get it. I play shitty and I get more points. I play SPECTACULARLY and get shitty cR. WHAT THE FUCK?! 3 double kills, 2 assassination, 8 pummels, killjoy, 1 triple kill, more than 3:1 k/d spread and it gives me SHIT for cR. I was top score in the game, let alone my team AND we WON. what the fuck?

Yeah this dashboard definitely seems like they took Games For Windows Live, made it themed green instead of blue, then slapped it on the xbox... the most disturbing thing is that they changed it mainly for Kinect... Why was it necessary? In all the videos it was shown with the OLD dashboard...

Ugh, the only reason I would even want Kinect is for the party aspect, so me and my friends could make fools of ourselves in front of eachother... I have no desire to make an ass of myself for no reason in complete privacy... that's freaking stupid.


I feel like you get the most points from commendations in a game... that's just me though....

It's true, commendations can make up about half or more of your credits earned.

Yeah, but when I get almost no commendations, how do I get MORE cR?!

I honestly want to know how they evaluate the Performance cR. Because there is a "commendations" cR listed separately from the performance cR I have no clue as to why I'm rewarded better for a worse performance. I scored in the mid-low 40's and did great but scored in the 80's when I sucked. Go figure.

If I want monies I just play firefight or score attack, though I will stter clear of firefight if I get paired up with unsavory types (like 2 guys I saw today who had HAX or GET HACKED in their names and their service tags were "GALO", needless to say, I opened up the menu and fled to waypoint).

I can understand the Hax part...

"GALO" --> "Gaylo" the most commonly used term for Halo for those who hate the game.

...You see, that makes sense in the sense that it's fucking retarded and should NOT make sense. Why would you play a game you hate? Why bother going through the trouble of creating a tag like that, playing the game you hate? Doesn't that speak volumes about the stupidity of the person?

They often play just to ruin the fun for everybody else, which in turn they get fun out of.

I've been getting addicted to infection, it's extremely fun when you know how to defend yourself effectively from zombies and how to stalk humans.

Especially the latter, NOBODY bothers to crouch and sneak around when they're a zombie, so the humans always know when they're coming. I'll only run around when I'm closing in for a split second for the kill or when I'm playing mind games on their motion tracker.

I art always Ninja and I LOVE infection. I've found it quite effective to crouch walk as an infected. I've been doing it since I came back to playing Halo. Now, we just need Griffball.

My only complaint with infection is that there's a spot on asylum where the humans can get high up onto a rock wall, forcing the zombies to attack head on with no cover against 5 guys. BULL. FUCKING. SHIT.

But I too am awaiting the return of griffbal with much anticipation.

yeah....it's fucking obnoxious. FUCKING OBNOXIOUS. It was funny when I was playing with Anson last night as this guy was up there but I rocketed past him up into the air, turned, and beat him down. LOL They can stay up there for a little but I have yet to see ppl stay up there for the entirety of a game.

Has anyone said anything to bungie? You'd think they'd know about it...
